Anniversary Card

Well, it's that time of year again when I become a widow on Sunday afternoons since my partner believes it is his duty as a "coach" to watch EVERY game to track how his fantasy teams are doing.  Sometimes this obsession annoys me, but I'm kind of enjoying it today, as it gave me time to work on some projects.  While I should be writing an exam I'm giving on Wed, I decided to spend the afternoon seeing what Cricut challenges are going on out there in cyber-land.  Challenge #90 at the Cricut Cardz Challenge website this week is to make a card using the card feature from any cartridge.  Since I've been working on a card for my parent's upcoming 42nd wedding anniversary, decided to finish it up today & submit it to the challenge.

The card base is from the Wild Card cartridge (pg. 39 - cut from paper out of DCWV's Shimmer Stack at 7.3 W x 6.53 H -- the paper underneath the scrolls is "Spring Greens" from 29th Street Market).  The heart is from Gypsy Wanderings (using the blackout feature - cut out of some red cardstock scraps at  1.83 W).  And finally, the birds are from Cindy Loo (pg. 64 - cut out of some light blue cardstock scraps at 2.63 W x 1.71 H).  It was looking kind of plain, so I decided to look for some raffia in my craft closet which I couldn't find.  I'm really glad because I came across the red ribbon which I think I like better.  Lesson of the day: it sometimes pays to be disorganized.
